Twitter “Bio” section is one of the most important things for your Twitter page. Everyone who checks your profile out will look at that little box to get the quick summary of You. You have to make sure it’s up to the task (to seduce your visitors!).

The first step that you should take in your mission to conquer Twitter, is to have awesome, unique and creative description of your profile. This little “Bio” section is very limited (160 words only), so it takes some wit and knowledge to properly utilize it to your advantage. Let’s give you some useful tips that you can use to dominate this media!

Twitter Growth Hack

Keep it Simple

For real now, Twitter gives people 160 characters and somehow… they still manage to over-complicate their bio!! It’s unclear, all over the place and doesn’t communicate the message properly. When someone checks your profile, they want you to cut straight to the point and tell them what is it that you’re all about. There’s no reason to over-complicate things and list 5 different companies that you work for. To keep it as simple as possible, try to answer these questions:

  • Who are you
  • What do you do
  • Why should they care about you

Congratulations. You just beat 90% people at your Bio game!

Add Some Personality

The worst thing you can do (besides over-complicating) is having just another generic, dull bio. The recipe for success is to add a slight touch of your personality into the mix. It doesn’t have to be anything special, just some small, interesting detail about yourself. You can also use your wit to entice some laughs, that always works.

Use Relevant Keywords

This is an important one. Not because of some weird “keyword” trick that everyone abuses, but simply because it helps people know what what to expect. So if you’re a photographer, you should probably use the word “photographer” in your bio – guaranteed success. But for real, use a few relevant keywords to whatever it is that you’re doing and it will just fine. Don’t use hashtags here, they are old and boring.

Links, Links, Links!

All things considered, the goal of your twitter page should not be to increase the number of your followers. It’s to get your followers to do something for you: read your blog, visit your website, buy your product, join your newsletter etc.

Twitter Growth

For this reason, you should your Bio as a way to get your followers to take the next step. It can be anything really, just make sure it’s something about YOU and not just a plain sales link to some random product that they never heard about. The good think about this is that Twitter gives you an extra slot just for your website or any other link. You can also use your “location” option to describe your link instead of proving your location.

Here’s some links you could use:

  • Your Website
  • Your Blog
  • Your Daily/Weekly/Monthly Newsletter
  • Your LinkedIn Profile
  • Your Instagram Profile
  • Your YouTube Channel
  • you get the point.

Whatever You Do, Avoid…

Mainstream buzzwords!!!

For real, everyone is on this buzzword train nowadays (Growth Hacker, Dropshipping Guru, Shopify Expert etc. – you get the point). Yes, it’s a keyword. But try not to use it in a cheesy way and instead find some creative, unique way to get your keyword across. Instead of using growth hacker example, try something like “My job is to make others adore you” – hey, at least it’s not overused.

Your Twitter Growth Is Close…

As said earlier, most people who visit your profile will first take a look at your Twitter Bio, so you got to make sure it looks awesome. Apply these tips and enjoy the swarm of people trying to grab your attention, hah!
