Instagram has a similar function where users can also add shoppable tags (pictured below).

21Buttons allows users to shop via the app while gaining style inspiration at the same time. Unlike Instagram, you don’t need to have a business account to add shoppable tags with 21Buttons.

One of the biggest differentiators between 21Buttons and Instagram is that you can actually earn money from referring other users to brands by tagging the products in your photos on 21Buttons. Social media users often wonder where influencers get their accessories and clothing from, which is what makes this function so useful. Users can simply tap on the tag in the photos, and shop what their favorite influencers are wearing.

The fact that you can actually make money off these referrals with 21Buttons is great. However, it’s important to remember that the amount you earn by using the app is directly correlated with how many users you send to purchase from the brands you’ve tagged.

How does it work?

The profile setup on 21Buttons is easy enough. What we loved about using 21Buttons

One of the things we loved about using this app is that you can earn money by referring other users to the brands you’re wearing. However, don’t expect a gold mine. Unless you have a huge following on the app, you probably won’t earn much from using it, but it’s still fun to use. The concept is unique – there are no other social media platforms like 21Buttons.

Another great thing about the app is the community on it. If you’re a fashion lover, this is a great platform for you to be on. It will provide you with ample style inspiration and it allows you to discover new brands.

With 21Buttons, all users can add tags to their photos and link others to their favorite brands, as opposed to Instagram’s similar feature that is limited to users with an Instagram business account.

Finally, we loved the ease of the profile setup on 21Buttons. It’s a very intuitive and quick process.

What we didn’t love about using 21Buttons

Something slightly frustrating about 21Buttons is that a lot of the photos on the app look the same. Although a lot of the fashion on the app is great and definitely serves up style envy, there isn’t a whole lot of variety in terms of user posts.

Many users on 21Buttons seem to have very similar style choices, which may not be useful for fashion lovers that are seeking creative styling tips.

The obvious solution here seems like it would be to search for users with a different style and follow them. The issue here is that there simply aren’t many users that have a unique style.

Conclusion

Overall, 21Buttons is a super fun app that’s easy to use. It’s not the type of social media platform that we’re used to seeing, which is quite refreshing. It provides you with daily style inspiration, it can be used as a discovery tool (for new brands, styling tips, etc), and it can even help you earn a little cash on the side. The Epic Lip Art That Turned Vlada Haggerty Into an Instagram Star

Very few people would walk around in the streets with their lips painted like Vlada’ Haggerty (@vladamua) – but that’s the point. There truly is nothing quite like it. Her edgy lip art is incredibly detailed and interesting to look at, which explains how she built a huge following of nearly 800k and led her to build a career in the cosmetics industry.

Vlada Haggerty, a makeup artist and the Lip Editor in Chief at Smashbox Cosmetics, uses her Instagram account to post her makeup art. She’s known throughout Instagram’s makeup community for creating elaborate lip art. Vlada uses many different materials to create her mesmerizing lip art, including rhinestones, paint, sequins, and a ton of different shades of lipstick. According to Vlada, her lip art sometimes takes hours to create. She stated that covering her lips in sequins and rhinestones takes between an hour and an hour and a half, whereas it takes her about three to four hours to paint and draw on her lips.

As you could imagine, Haggerty must have incredible patience to create her intricate lip designs, but it has clearly paid off for her. Since 2015, Vlada Haggerty has made a name for herself in the makeup and fashion industries. She has been featured in several large publications, including Teen Vogue, Fashion magazine, Cosmopolitan, and more.

According to Haggerty, she was expecting a job transfer with Sephora upon moving, however, it didn’t pan out: “…I ended up in L.A. on December 15th, right before Christmas, with no friends, no job. It was really scary.”, wrote Vlada.

After moving to LA without a job, she began experimenting with different techniques. Vlada credits London makeup artist, Karla Powell, as her initial inspiration for experimenting with lip art.

While Vlada’s unique content is admired by nearly 800k followers, large corporations and publications are also eyeing her interesting take on makeup. In fact, earlier this year, Vlada sued Make Up For Ever, an LVMH company, for copying her lip art to promote their products.

According to Vlada, Make Up For Ever reached out to her several times, asking if the cosmetics company could use her lip art in their marketing campaigns. Allegedly, Vlada politely declined all of their requests for a collaboration as she was already under contract with one of Make Up For Ever’s competitors, Smashbox.

When it comes to her success as an influencer, Vlada has expressed that she saw a surge in her Instagram followers after having her lip art reposted by Anastasia Beverly Hills. “That was great, and that’s why I fight for proper credit”, she told Coveteur. Vlada elaborated on this saying that many people miss opportunities when they aren’t given credit for reposts on social media.

And finally, a lot of it also comes down to the picture description as well. Getting the product noticed is important, but if you want the best results then you have to include a good description with it. It should follow the rules of sponsored content, but also provide an attention catching paragraph or two.

Describing the product is fine, but what you want to do is to once again put yourself in it. Write about your own feelings, how the product helped you and made you happy, after all, that’s what matters to your followers.
